BERWYN "RUSTY" PALMERNovember 15, 1930 ~ October 6, 2017 (age 86)
A graveside memorial service for Berwyn “Rusty” Palmer, age 86, will be held Friday, November 24, 2017 at 1:00 P.M. at the Freeze Cemetery north of Potlatch, Idaho. Pastor Kathy Lee Kramer will officiate at the Celebration of Life service. The United States Air Force and Potlatch Post # 10300, V.F.W. will provide Military Honors. A potluck dinner will follow the service. Rusty passed away on October 6th at Fairfield Care in Fairfield, WA where he lived for the past 2 years.
He was born November 15, 1930 at Potlatch, Idaho to Jason and Anna (Dial) Palmer. He attended grade school and high school at Potlatch, and later attended N. I. C. at Coeur d’Alene, ID. Rusty married Audrey Shook in 1950 at Coeur d’Alene, and then began his career in the Air Force.
Mr. Palmer served in the US Airforce from 1951 thru 1974. Rusty served at several Air Force Bases around the world. He retired from the Air Force as a Master Sergeant after his 23 years of service.
Rusty then worked for the City of Clearfield, Utah for several years. He then worked for Kootenai County doing maintenance at the airport north of Coeur d’Alene. He had made his home at Post Falls, Idaho.
Rusty was a member of the Single Action Shooting Society. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, riding horses, and motorcycles. He was a hardworking man, and loved the outdoors.
Survivors include his two sons, Randy Palmer of Oakland, CA and Kent Palmer of Kennewick, WA; his brother, Donovan Palmer of Potlatch, 6 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife Audrey in 1979, his son Kevin Palmer in 2001, and by a sister, Twilla Million.
