Darlene M. Hester, 80, a resident of Ladow Court Assisted Living in Garfield since Nov. of 2017 passed away on July 30, 2018 at Ladow Court.
Darlene was born on July 18, 1938 at Spokane, WA to Daniel V. and Myrl (Hoffman) Dvorak. She spent her early childhood in Spokane and moved to Elberton, WA when she was in the 4th grade. She graduated from the Garfield High School in 1956.
After High School, Darlene joined the United States Air Force and learned computer programming while in the service.
She married Larry Hester on Dec. 28, 1959 at Coeur d’Alene, ID and the couple were later divorced.
Darlene started working for Spokane County as a computer operator and retired after several years of service.
Unable to have children, Darlene loved spending time and spoiling her nieces and nephews.
Darlene was active all her life, loving the outdoors, cross country skiing, hiking, running in many fun runs and Bloomsday.
The family would like to thank the Staff at Ladow Court for the wonderful care given to Darlene.
Survivors include: one brother, Dennis Dvorak, Cheney, WA, one sister, Linda Diane Carscallen, Pullman, WA. Darlene is survived by 10 nieces and nephews, many great and great-great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Roy and James Dvorak.
No services will be conducted and her Urn will be buried at the Garfield Cemetery.
