A memorial service for Ruby B. Perkins, 102, will be held on Sunday, Nov. 19, 2017 1:00 P.M. at the Garfield Christian Fellowship Church with Pastor Dean Walker officiating.  Ruby passed away peacefully at the LaDow Court Assisted Living in Garfield, WA where she made her home for the past 3 years.  The family wishes to extend their sincerest thanks to the LaDow Court staff for their loving care.

She was born on July 11, 1915 at Kendrick, ID to John and Emma Nelson.  She attended her schooling at the Silver Country School near Clarkston, WA and graduated from the Garfield High School in 1933.

She married Asa W. Perkins on Feb. 8, 1935 at Colfax, WA and the couple made their home at Garfield, WA.  Ruby was a homemaker all her life and her husband worked as a barber, worked at a local grain warehouse, and was postmaster at Garfield for many years.  Mr. Perkins died in 1984.

She was a member of the Garfield Christian Fellowship Church, enjoyed playing pinochle, and enjoyed visiting with her many friends.

Survivors include two sons, Norman Perkins (Darlene) and Jim Perkins both of Garfield, WA, two daughters, Rosemarie Harlan ( Chuck), Sunburst, MT, and Dorothy (Dot) Bugh, Colfax, WA.  Ruby is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and 9 great great-grandchildren.   She was preceded in death by one daughter, Betty Hanson, one great- grandson, Rob Howard, and her siblings, Myrtle Lauer, Pearl Ablutz, Rose Anderson, Glen Nelson and Richard Nelson.
