WANDA MAE (RIEDNER) MILBERT

A Mass of Christian Burial for Wanda Milbert, age 77, will be held Saturday, October 20, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at Saint Mary’s Catholic Church at Potlatch, Idaho with Father Chase Hasenoehrl officiating at the service.  Rosary will be recited at 7:00 P.M. on Friday evening at the church.  Mrs. Milbert passed away Wednesday morning at her Potlatch home.

Wanda Mae Riedner was born November 3, 1940 at Colton, Washington to Elmer and Katherine (Wirtz) Riedner.  She attended schools at Colton, Washington, Guardian Angels Catholic Elementary School and Notre Dame Academy High School in Colton,  graduating in 1958.

Wanda married John Milbert on January 6, 1960 at Colton, Washington while he was serving in the US Navy.  Following his service, the couple made their home in Potlatch.  Wanda was a homemaker most of her life, but the couple operated Milbert’s Cashway on Highway 95 for 5 years.   Wanda also worked as a bartender at the Pullman Moose Lodge and as a cook at the Acacia Fraternity in Pullman for a few years.    She retired in 2006.  Her husband John passed away in 2015.

She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Potlatch, a member of the Potlatch VFW Auxiliary, and a former member of the Pullman Moose Lodge.   Wanda taught hunter’s education in Potlatch for 12 years.  Wanda was a Girl Scout Leader for several years,

Survivors include; 4 daughters, Michele Foasberg of Nevada City, CA, Laurie Bass of Lewiston, Idaho,  Sandra Cochrane of Potlatch, and Christine Milbert of Potlatch, one son, Frank Milbert of Moscow, Idaho; one sister, Marci Henry of Richland, WA, one brother-in-law, Richard Price of Tucson, AZ; 12 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband John, a grandson, Geoffrey Borchers as well as five brothers and six sisters.

Memorial gifts may be given to the Potlatch Ambulance Fund, Box 63, Potlatch, Idaho for to St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Potlatch.
