Carol M. Carter
Our beloved mother, Carol M. Carter, of Moscow, passed away Wednesday, February 21, 2024, at a life well lived age of 92.
Carol was born December 21,1931 in Potlatch, Idaho to Arthur and Alice (McClure) Strong. She graduated from Potlatch High School in 1950 marrying her high school sweetheart, Charles N. Carter, Jr., August 1,1951 at Colorado Springs, Colorado where he was stationed in the Army. The family made their home in Lewiston for several years and later moved to Moscow, where Carol worked at several businesses before working and retiring from GTE. Chuck and Carol owned and operated the Richfield service station for several years and later owned and operated Moscow Auto Service where she worked (and retired for a second time) as bookkeeper.
Carol was happiest when spending time with family. She enjoyed baking and gardening and camping, wood cutting, and huckleberry picking with family and friends.
Survivors include her children Barbara and Craig Doan, Bruce Carter, Diana and Lonny Gregg, and Daniel and Dana Carter. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Chuck, five brothers and two sisters, daughter-in-law Amy, and great-grandson Cole.
An open house to celebrate Chuck and Carol will be held 2:00-4:00 p.m. Saturday, March 30, at the Best Western Plus University Inn in Moscow.
The family would like to express a heartfelt thank you to the compassionate and caring staff of Bishop Place and Gentiva Hospice, both of Pullman for the extraordinary care given to our mom the past three years.
