Mark W. Kramer
Owner/Operator ~ Licensed Funeral Director & Embalmer
Mark W. Kramer is a second generation funeral director and
co-owner of Kramer Funeral Home with his brother, Robert. He has been actively involved in working at
the funeral home since the age of 16 when he was first licensed as an
apprentice, but also worked with his father long before that.
Mark was born and raised in Tekoa, Washington, graduating
high school in 1968. He served his
apprenticeship at Hazen & Jager Funeral Home in Spokane while attending
classes at Spokane Falls Community College.
After earning his prerequisite credits, he attended the San Francisco
College of Mortuary Science, graduating in 1972.
On December 1, 1972, Mark and his brother assumed management
of the funeral home in Palouse, working under the direction of their father,
Jack Kramer, who purchased the firm in 1969 from the Kimball family. The brothers assumed ownership of both
funeral homes (Palouse & Tekoa) in 1989 when Jack & Marian Kramer “semi-retired”.
Mark served on Palouse's Planning and Zoning Commission for many years before being appointed to the city's Board of Adjustment where he currently serves as chairman.
Mark’s hobbies include bowling, fishing, hunting, camping
and working harvest for local farmers, driving combine and grain truck. He is married to Ami C. (Lemon) Kramer,
formerly of Colfax and he has two sons, Brandon and Daniel.
