LaVonne Thomas, 90, a former resident of Rosalia, WA passed away on Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at the St. John Adult Family Home in St. John, WA.
LaVonne was born on April 24, 1929 at St. John, WA to Ezra and Sarah (Harman) Mitchell. She attended her schooling at St. John, WA and Garfield, WA finishing her schooling at Garfield, WA.
She married Harvey Weible and the couple later divorced.
She married Joseph Thomas in 1969 and the couple made their home at Rosalia, WA where they owned and operated the Longhorn Café (formerly called Harold’s Club) for several years. The couple also operated Dolly’s Restaurant in Spokane, WA, and Tom’s Café in Coeur d’Alene, ID. Mr. Thomas died in 2006.
LaVonne cooked and was a waitress at the Longhorn Café for several years. She retired in 1974.
She enjoyed cooking, hosting family dinner’s, playing cards, dancing. She loved her family and grandkids.
Survivors include, two sons, Gary Weible (Eunice), Richland, WA, Ron Weible (Ginger) Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, one step-son, James Thomas (Barbara Smick), Ritzville, WA., two daughters, Laura Van Dyke, St. John, WA, Pennie Fish (Douglas) Spokane, WA. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a step-son Tom Thomas.
A private family graveside service will be held at a later date at the Pine City Cemetery at Pine City, WA.
