Virginia E. Main, 81, a resident of Palouse, Wash., passed away Sunday, Oct. 14, 2018, in Clarkston,
Wash. She was born on Nov. 13, 1936, in Palouse to George and Astor (Howard) Proctor.
She attended her schooling in Palouse and graduated from Palouse High School in 1954.
She married Leonard Main on Dec. 3, 1956, in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, and the couple made their home in
Palouse. Virginia was a homemaker all her life. Leonard passed away on Sept. 4, 2018.
She was a member of the Palouse Grange No. 177. She enjoyed cooking, camping, casinos — and loved
all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include her two sons, Rod (Tammy) Main of Palouse, and Mike (Donna) Main of Clarkston,
Wash.; one brother, Ted Proctor of Centralia, Wash.; and one sister, Joanne Spangler of Osburn, Idaho.
She is also survived by three grandchildren, Tanya (Phil) de Bruijn, Kasey (Hillary) Main and Nicholas
(Brandy) Main; and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; and two
brothers, Randy and Don Proctor.
A graveside service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 20, 2018, at Greenwood Cemetery in
Palouse, with Edwin Gray officiating. A reception will follow the service at the Palouse Community
Center.
