DONALD JAMES KAYSER

Donald J. Kayser, 79, a resident of Moscow, ID passed away on Dec. 17, 2023 at his home in Moscow, ID.

Donald was born on Feb. 6, 1944 at Nampa, ID to James and Jean (Shute) Kayser.  He attended his schooling at Kansas City, Missouri, Colville, WA and the Palouse High School graduating in 1962. 

Don married Doris Prater on June 28, 1963 at Palouse, WA and the couple made their home at Palouse, WA.  The couple later moved to Moses Lake, WA for 5 years where Don worked as a truck driver, driving potatoes to processing facilities. 

The couple later moved to Viola, ID where Don worked for Eddie Gray of Gray Farms as a year round farmhand for 12 years.  Worked for Snow Farms near Moscow, ID for 7 years as a farm laborer. 

In 1985 the couple moved to Moscow, ID where they have made their home since.

Don worked for Trans Systems of Spokane, WA as a long haul truck driver along with his wife Doris as his partner for 19 years.  Mr. Kayser retired in 2010.

Mr. Kayser enjoyed hunting.

Don was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Moscow, ID.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Doris Kayser, Moscow, ID, one son, Robert J. Kayser (Janet) Moscow, ID, one daughter, Christine Ackerman (John) Spokane, WA, one brother, Jerry Kayser (Rhonda) Spokane, WA, one sister, Judith Laughlin (Steve) Colville, WA.   Tabatha Kayser, Spokane Valley, WA.  Don is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his oldest son Dale W. Kayser in 2021 and one brother Richard Kayser.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Jan. 6, 2024, 11:00 A.M. at the church of the Nazarene, 1400 E. 7th Street, Moscow, ID with Pastor Ed Eby officiating.
