Dorothy Mae Libey (Gushliak)
Born 6/11/1924 passed away peacefully on 6/11/2024 at 100 years old.
Dorothy was an avid yardsaler and always out for something someone may one day need. She worked in the kitchen at the school for a short time, volunteered for several years at the clothes closet in Potlatch and cleaned for Wagon Wheel for many years. When she wasn’t taking care of her Grandchildren you would either find her sitting outside watching cars drive by or sitting at the Lucky 7, or Wagon Wheel soaking in all the gossip about “oh you know that one person” anything and everything. She loved to dance in her younger years and had many adventures with close friends. As she got older she loved to go for drives and reminisce about different places she had been and seen, such as a prosthetic leg, to the houses she spent the night in with her friends as a young girl. 100 years of wisdom and stories we will all remember and hold close to our hearts.
She is preceded in death by her parents Mike and Lena Gushliak, her beloved husband Floyd K. Libey, her cherished only child Doyle N. Libey, and her siblings Jim, Bob, and Margret. She is also preceded by her special companion, Darrell Erickson.
She is cherished and survived by her Grandchildren, Renee (Jim) Haskell, Darin (Carla) Libey, and Bethany (Kyle) Trnka.
Great Grandchildren, Mandy Hamburg, Jimmy Haskell, Brad (Alison) Haskell, Alicia (Cody) Crismore, Kaia Trnka and Layla Trnka.
Great Great Grandchildren, Jarrod Hamburg (Billie), Christopher Hamburg (Kennedy), Anneka Hamburg, Raleigh Crismore, Lucia Crismore.
Great Great Great Grandson’s-Stetson Hamburg, and Jett Hamburg.
Among MANY other self-acclaimed Grandchildren over the last Century.
She is finally at peace with her late husband dancing away at all the grange halls in heaven, and getting dozens of roses from her son again.
Graveside service will be held on Tuesday, July 2, 2024, 11:00 A.M. at the Viola Cemetery, Viola, ID with Rev. Lee Nicholson officiating.
Gathering at the wagon wheel for “juice with granny” to close out her celebration of life.
