Florence Mae Raisler was born April 8,1922 to George and Abbie Raisler on the family farm in Lone Tree ND. 

She passed on February 7, 2025 in Molalla OR.

In 1940 after graduating from high school in Beach ND, she moved to Colfax Washington to be close to her sister Ethyl and worked in the office of an automobile dealer.

In 1941 she married Artemus Franklin Tinnel and on October 4, 1942 gave birth to her daughter, Marjory.

The next year, the young family moved to Beach ND to own and operate a dry cleaning plant.

In 1946 she gave birth to her son, Rodney, and shortly thereafter, the family moved to Palouse WA, to own and operate a dry cleaning plant, the Quality Cleaners.  Art and Flo were members of the Palouse Christian Church, and numerous community organizations.

In May of 1962, Art Tinnel passed on due to complications in his colon. In 1965, she sold the dry cleaning plant (carrying the contract) and moved to Spokane to become the office manager of a department store.  In 1968 she was required to resume operation of the Quality Cleaners due to contract forfeiture.  Then she met Chauncey Bryant, a newly retired Navy Chief Warrant Officer, and on July 21, 1969 they were married.  She and Chauncey enjoyed traveling, camping, fishing, cooking and friends.  They were active in several community organizations, including leadership in the Lions Club.

Flo and Chauncey operated the Quality Cleaners together until retirement in 1987.  After that winter, they decided to purchase an RV and become “snowbirds”.  They ultimately found a winter home in Martinez Lake, AZ, and became campground managers. In March of 1996 Chauncey passed on due to throat cancer.  Flo continued to snowbird singly until approximately 1998 when she sold her home and became a full time RV’er, pulling her 5th wheel trailer from Martinez Lake to Republic WA and back each year.

Most of the times back and forth she would be accompanied by family or friends, but a number of times she did parts of it solo, even into her 90’s.  She had friends everywhere, “adopting” children along the way, and her indomitable spirit was inspirational to all. She enjoyed fishing, playing cards, watching and following the Mariners and Seahawks and spending time with her family and friends.

Her last couple of years were certainly difficult as needing extra care was contrary to her lifestyle, but she was always optimistic, and she concluded her 102nd birthday party by loudly proclaiming “Bring on the years”!  She will be missed, but we are blessed in having her as long as we were able.

She was preceded in passing by her parents, husbands, siblings and one granddaughter.  She is survived by her children, 6 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren.

Florence passed away on Feb. 7, 2025 at Molalla, Oregon at the age of 102 years old.

A graveside commital service will be held on Saturday, Sept. 6, 2025 at 3:00 P.M. at the Garfield Cemetery.
