JERRY L. ROBERTS                                                                                                               MARCH 6, 2021

Jerry L. Roberts, 79, a resident of St. Maries, ID and formerly of Harvard, ID passed away on March 6, 2021 at Kootenai Health in Coeur d’Alene, ID.

Jerry was born on July 3, 1941 at Blackfoot, ID to John and Virgie (Thomas) Roberts.  Jerry attended schools at St. Anthony, ID and the Potlatch Schools at Potlatch, ID. 

Jerry entered into the United States Navy on Dec. 6, 1960 and was discharged on Dec. 4, 1964.

Jerry married Phyllis Tinney, on Nov. 8, 1963 at Palms City, CA and in 1964 the couple moved to Potlatch, ID. 

In 1984 the couple moved to Post Falls, ID and later moved to Lewiston, ID in 1987 where Jerry worked for Potlatch / Clearwater Paper as a shipping manager.  He retired after 44 years with the company.

In 2003 the couple moved to Harvard, ID.  Mrs. Roberts died in 2019.

Jerry later moved to St. Maries, ID to live with his daughter and son in law, Kathy and Les Zimmerman.

Jerry enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing, spending time with his family.  Jerry was also one of the first EMT’S at Potlatch, ID.

Survivors include one son Evan Roberts (Alvina) Deary, ID, one daughter, Kathleen Zimmerman (Les) St. Maries, ID. , one brother, Mark Roberts, Vancouver, WA, two sisters, Joyce Anderson (Marty), Potlatch, ID., Faye Carper (Vern) Lewiston, ID.    Jerry is also survived by 5 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.  Jerry was preceded in death by Virginia Thompson, Ruth Slack, Maxine Roberts, Jean Todish, Bonnie Bartlett, Sharon Thayer, Donna Young and Richard Roberts.

A joint memorial services for Jerry and Phyllis Roberts will be held on Saturday, March 27, 2021, 11:00 A.M. at the Church of the Nazarene, Princeton, ID with Pastor Bob Lambert officiating.  Military Honors will follow the service for Jerry with Potlatch Post #10300 VFW and the United States Navy Honor Guard participating.  A luncheon will follow the service at the Church.

PHYLLIS J. ROBERTS                                                                                                  DECEMBER 13, 2019                              

Phyllis J. Roberts, 72, a resident of Harvard, ID. passed away on Friday, Dec. 13, 2019 at Kootenai Health in Coeur d’Alene, ID.

She was born on Sept. 13, 1947 at La Mesa, CA to Herschel and Ann (Shultz) Tinney.  She attended her schooling in California.

She married Jerry Roberts on Nov. 8, 1963 at Palms City, CA and in 1965 the couple moved to the Potlatch, ID area.  Phyllis was employed at Floyds grocery store and later at Harvest Foods in Potlatch for several years as a cashier and wrapping meat in the meat market.

In 1984, the couple moved to Post Falls, ID where Mr. Roberts worked for Potlatch Forest, Inc. and later moved to Lewiston, ID in 1987.  The couple later moved to Harvard, ID in 2003.

Phyllis was a member of the Harvard Ladies Aid.  Phyllis enjoyed playing cards, Ocean fishing, camping, mushrooming and riding 4- wheelers.  She loved being with her family.

Survivors include her husband Jerry, Harvard, ID, one son, Evan Roberts (Alvina) Deary, ID., one daughter, Kathleen Zimmerman (Les) St. Maries, ID, one sister, Patricia Earls, Tennessee.  Phyllis is also survived by 5 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Jim and Joe Tinney.

A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
