JOYCE ANN STRONG

Joyce A. Strong, 79, a resident of Potlatch, ID passed away on Sunday, December 30, 2018 at Tekoa Care Center, Tekoa, WA.

She was born on April 13, 1939 at San Bernardino, CA to John and Audra (Mills) Cleavinger.  She attended most of her schooling at Potlatch, ID. 

She married George Strong on July 20, 1956 at Potlatch, ID and the couple made their home at Potlatch.  Joyce was a homemaker most of her life.  She worked at the Potlatch School district as a custodian for 2 years.  She later worked at Ireland’s Inn for several years as a baker and made the big maple bars.  She later worked at a Fraternity house – Delta Sigma Phi at WSU for 4 years.

Joyce enjoyed baking, quilting and an avid sports fan of her grandchildren in all the sports they played.

Survivors include her husband George Strong, Potlatch, ID, two sons, Mark Strong (Deborah), Rathdrum, ID, Jeff Strong, Potlatch, ID, one Daughter, Jill Palmer (Larry), Garfield, WA, one sister, Judy Poirier, Coeur d’Alene, ID.  Joyce is also survived by 5 grandchildren, Clayton Strong, Carl Strong, Brandy Montgomery, Genna Bessey and Dalton Strong and 8 great grandchildren

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 5, 2019, 11:00 A.M. at the Grace Community Church, Potlatch, ID with Pastor Kathy Kramer officiating.  Urn burial will be at a later date at the Garfield Cemetery, Garfield, WA.
