Judy Kathleen Johnson, affectionately known as Kathy, was peacefully restored in Heaven on February 18, 2025.

Kathy was born in 1947 to Bruce and Glenna Harrell in Wichita, Kansas. At the age of 12, her family moved to Coffeyville, Kansas, where she became actively involved in Girl Scouts, the high school Drum and Bugle Corp and was a baton twirling majorette.

After completing high school, Kathy relocated to Kansas City, where she worked as a certified dental hygienist. In 1972, she earned a bachelor's degree in Child and Family Development from Kansas State University  

After college, Kathy relocated to Idaho and spent the rest of her life in the Pacific Northwest, where she raised her family whom she loved deeply. Together, they spent time outdoors, camping and canoeing. She enjoyed chocolate, wine, HGTV and attempting do-it-yourself projects. She retired from Sacred Heart Hospital, working as a financial counselor, dedicating herself to helping patients and their families through challenging times.

Kathy was kind, gentle and selfless. Above all, Kathy’s unwavering commitment to God was evident and served as a living testimony of her faith.

Kathy was preceded in death by her father, Bruce (C.B.) Harrell; mother, Glenna Harrell; sister, Michele Ann (Shelly) Kendrick; brother-in-law, Michael Kendrick; and her “baby brother,” Curt Harrell.

She is survived by her children, Brian Dulin (Michelle Fuson) and Kimberley Brown (Derek); her grandchildren, Abbie, Owen, and Penelope; her sister, Debbie Stevens (Leo); sister-in-law, Corene Harrell; cousins, Amy Parry (John) and Susan Connor; her nieces and nephews: Kelly Benham (John), Kristin Pennington (Mack), Monica Armstrong (Kyle), Travis Stevens (Cristal), Sarah Myers (Kelly) and Kara Ball (Michael); and Ron Johnson, with whom she shared many years of marriage.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Bishop Place in Pullman, Washington, for providing Kathy with the independence, grace, and respect she needed while managing the progression of Alzheimer’s disease. Family also wishes to express their sincere appreciation to Gentiva Hospice for treating Kathy with such love and care. 

Kathy will be greatly missed by all who knew her. May her legacy of love, faith, kindness, and gentleness live on in the hearts of those she touched. A private memorial will be held in her home state of Kansas at a later date.
