LARRY UDELL WARNER

Larry U. Warner, 91, a resident of Garfield, WA passed away on Oct. 12, 2025 at his home in Garfield, WA.

Larry was born on Jan. 27, 1934 at Deary, ID to John and Chloie (Whybark) Warner.  He attended the Deary Schools and graduated from the Deary High School in 1952.  Larry attended the U. Of Idaho where he received his Master’s Degree in Education. 

Larry served in the United States Army from 1953 and discharged in 1955.

Larry married Carolee McGraw on Oct. 10, 1954 at Clarkston, WA and the couple moved to several different locations where Larry taught school.  Mr. Warner taught school in Touchet, WA, Colville, WA and settled in Garfield, WA.  Larry served as Principal of the Garfield School district from 1965 to 1978 and later served at Superintendent from 1978 to 1987.  Larry served as superintendent for the Garfield – Palouse School district from 1987 to 1991 until he retired in 1991.

Larry was a member of the Garfield Lions Club, retired Teachers Association and the Halpin Foundation, Boy Scout leader, Northwest History Association.  Larry enjoyed traveling and cross-word puzzles.

Survivors include his wife of 71 years Carolee Warner, one son, Michael Warner (Rita), Palouse, WA, two daughters, Julie Bradley, Moscow, ID, Ilene Manning (Bruce) Garfield, WA., one brother, Fred Warner (Evon) Deary, ID.  Larry is also survived by 5 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandson.  He was preceded in death by a sister Norene Lewis.

A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, Oct. 26, 2025, 2:00 P.M. at the Garfield Christian Fellowship Church.  Memorials may be given to the Donor’s Choice.
