MARTHENE ‘ MARTY’ BRUCE                                                                                                        JUNE 21, 2023

Marthene “Marty” Bruce, 87, a resident of Harvard, ID passed away on June 21, 2023 at Kootenai Health in Coeur d’Alene, ID.

She was born on Dec. 15, 1935 at Spokane, WA. to Dwight and Julia (Colbert) Maycroft.  She was raised in Spokane, WA and attended her schooling there.

She married Larry Bruce on Sept. 1, 1956 after Larry returned from his service in the Army. 

The couple owned and operated Minden’s Market and the couple later closed the store in Harvard, ID.

Marty later worked for the University of Idaho and cooked for a Fraternity there until she retired.

Marty enjoyed traveling to Alaska to fish and visiting Mr. Bruce’s brother on many occasions.

During her final years she ran around with her “gang” playing bingo, cards and dice.  She was spunky, out spoken and loving.

Survivors include two daughters, Joy L. Stubbs, and Bonnie Shoemaker, one sister, Doreen Newton.  She is also survived by 5 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and 3 great –great grandchildren.

On July 31, 2023 at 5:30 P.M. a farewell bingo night will be held at the Princeton Community Center for Marty.
