PATRICK "RICK" MAGERS Obituary

Patrick “Rick” Magers passed away at his summer camp on June 19, 2024 from pancreatic cancer. Rick was a devoted family man, a cherished friend, and loving husband of 47 years. Rick was born in Moscow Idaho on December 31, 1955 and was raised by his parents, Homer and Hannah Magers, in Sanders Idaho. He graduated from Plummer High School in 1975 and started working as a timber faller up the St. Joe Country. He married his high school sweet heart Jodie Hoffman on August 21, 1976 and they enjoyed living in a camp trailer for 3 years on the job strip, in the woods, where ever that was. After they had children, he left the woods and started working at Washington State University so he could be with his family. He worked there for 35 years and retired with his wife, and moved into an RV full time, enjoying the woods, and rivers that they loved. Rick was an avid outdoorsman, a passionate fisherman, especially Steelhead, and jet boat captain. He enjoyed Elk hunting, gold mining and just being in the woods. Rick also loved playing corn hole, going to car races, being with family and friends, but mostly driving his wife where ever she wanted to go. Rick loved AC/DC music and was known to play his air guitar “stick” whenever the opportunity arose. He would sit around the camp fire and tell stories all night if anyone could stay up with him. He enjoyed an adventurous life, always doing something fun and being around the people he loved. Rick lives on through his wife Joleen “Jodie” Magers, his son Jason Magers, his daughter Rachel Magers, his two Grandchildren Brody Jones and Ella Magers-Herzog, and his family and friends. His family will be hosting a Celebration of Life in Rick’s honor at the Holiday Inn and Quay Convention Center at 700 Port Drive Clarkston WA 99403 on August 10, 2024 at 1 pm. The family is asking those who plan on attending to bring a desert, tell a joke or story, to playing you air guitar, and do your best Elk call. Cards can be mailed to the Magers family at 2904 25th Street, Clarkston WA. 99403.
